A BRIEF HISTORY
Between this time and college, Valerie spent a lot of time building her organization “Girls 4 Good” and working on other projects in video production/broadcast journalism. Check out some of her work here.
Bryce was busy learning all of the extreme sports his home-state of Colorado had to offer from skiing, to wakeboarding, and adventuring into the mountains as much as possible.
We both attended the University of Miami in sunny south Florida. But we didn’t end up meeting until…
We met while traveling with Semester at Sea. We lived on a ship for 108 days and sailed all around the Atlantic to 17 countries.
In the summer of 2015 we packed up our bags and moved to Singapore for the summer to work at internships. We lived with Val’s family while there. (Val’s mom is from Singapore and is the youngest of 18). We were true weekend warriors that summer traveling to Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan. Highlights include a week riding motorcycles through Northern Vietnam (Val’s first time riding!), hiking Mount Fuji, and Singaporean Chili Crab
In 2016, we ventured to the amazing East African nation of Tanzania. We went diving in the famous waters of Zanzibar, went on safari, and even climbed the highest mountain on the whole African continent: Mount Kilimanjaro.
We lived in New York City for two years – working, saving, and gearing up for our next big adventure.
In the summer of 2018 we set off on our biggest adventure yet – driving from the USA all the way through Central and South America in our self-converted 1999 Dodge Ram Van “Tibú.” We even went to the southern most continent – Antarctica!
Upon our return from the Pan-American Highway, we found our way to Bryce’s home-state of Colorado. Since being here, we’ve deepened our love of extreme sports like skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking, and wakeboarding!
Take a look at our history as partners over to the left and more about us as individuals below! We have spent the past decade chasing our curiosity and sharing our adventures with others along the way.
In college, Valerie had a mentor that told her to find someone who wants to go on the adventure with you. Whatever “adventure” means to you, that’s our #1 advice for a successful team.
Valerie
(As told by Bryce)
Standing at a towering 5 foot and 1 inch tall, this whirling dynamo was born for a life of adventure. Born to a Singaporean mother, and Irish-American father, Valerie spent her childhood straddling two very different worlds. Humble almost to a fault, and blessed with a heart that knows no bounds, she has spent her life empowering others. I’ll happily follow her to the ends of the earth as she does so (mostly as a Sherpa, but I’ll take it).
